Healing a Nation Starts Locally!

Updated: Oct 28, 2019

On October 20th, 2019 we had the privilege of partnering with Crown and Anchor Church. After 2nd service was over the body of Christ flooded the streets of Downtown Vancouver, picking up 260 pounds of trash.

For a moment, I want you imagine that on the streets we call home, there was enough garbage to weigh the same as a full sized grown man. How often do we neglect our own streets, walk past what we should pick up, and leave it because it's 'not our responsibility?'

We challenged that status quo and pushed toward the idea that doing the right thing is "cool."

Cleaning up the city you live in, rolling up your sleeves to get your hands dirty, and being willing to work with strangers for the greater good, forces us to remember that change starts with us.

However, we didn't stop there. Our teams mobilized with hand written signs filled with heart felt messages, and they placed them around town.

Messages saying "Jesus Loves You" and "You Are Loved" are small but impactful reminders that as people, we are cared for and never alone.

We are facing the highest suicide rates we've seen in a long time, and we believe that just one of these signs could be enough of a reminder to push someone to stay with us at least one more day.

Helping a broken nation starts by healing a hurting town. We know that this mission isn't going to change the world over night, but you better believe that a cleaner city filled with signs of hope is a great start! HUGE THANK YOU to Crown and Anchor church for partnering with us and flooding the city with the body of Christ. We appreciate your hearts and mission.
